About The Position

Multiquip is seeking a hands‑on, safety‑focused Paint Assistant. You play a key role in keeping parts moving smoothly through our powder coating process. You’ll help ensure high‑quality finishes, safe handling of materials, and consistent production flow. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No prior experience necessary—training provided
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, memos, and simple correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in small groups
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; fractions and decimals)
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs
  • Strong problem‑solving skills in standardized situations
  • Ability to operate standard hand tools and air‑powered tools
  • Ability to operate a hoist
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Regular use of hands for handling parts and tools; frequent reaching overhead
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs routinely
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Visual requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Exposure to chemicals (e.g., hydraulic fluid, fuel, cleaners)
  • Loud working environment—hearing protection required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare parts for paint (plugging holes, taping, and general prep work)
  • Hang parts using correct hooks and proper spacing
  • Inspect painted components for quality issues—including runs, sags, or uncoated areas
  • Safely remove finished parts and stack them to prevent damage
  • Clean and maintain paint line equipment
  • Record wastewater discharge and pH readings as needed
  • Safely operate a hoist
  • Operate a forklift or power buggy (as assigned by supervisor)
  • Handle all machinery and equipment with care and attention
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support production
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
