Paint and Blast Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, problem solving, quality control and training of a team of industrial painters and sandblasters. Successful candidates will have strong leadership qualities, the ability to work closely with management to meet production schedules and provide feedback to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency, strong commitment to Health and Safety programs and the ability to communicate effectively to team members and management. Ensure that health and safety obligations are carried out by everyone working your bay. Analyze work procedures to identify hazards; communicate workplace hazards and safety-related policies to employees; ensure measures are implemented to eliminate or control those hazards. Ensure safety operating procedures are in place and are observed. Ensure individuals working have proper safety equipment and personal protective equipment to perform their work safely. Counsel employees with safety related behavioral problems Correct unsafe conditions and/or equipment as soon as possible. Curtail or stop work being carried out if reasonably believed that continuation of the work poses an imminent danger to health or safety. Other responsibilities include the ability to prep and clean steel for painting; applying primer; painting surfaces of equipment using a two part poly-urethane product; application of paint by a conventional low pressure spray system; unloading parts to and from paint booth using overhead crane and forklift; troubleshoot and diagnose paint problems; maintain equipment and area in a clean and safe condition. Sandblast responsibilities include the use of high-pressure equipment utilizing air to clean and prepare metal surfaces in preparation for painting.
