This position is for an Interventional Pain Specialist located in Richmond, Virginia, within a new, state-of-the-art facility. The successful candidate will work full-time and permanently in a procedure suite, focusing on both non-surgical and surgical patients with pain complaints. Board eligibility or certification in anesthesiology or physiatry is required for this role. The candidate will be expected to see a variety of patients, including those with acute and subacute musculoskeletal issues, as well as pre and post-surgical patients. Collaboration with spine surgeons and other physicians in the practice is essential to ensure comprehensive patient care. The role involves performing a range of interventional procedures aimed at alleviating pain. Common procedures include trigger point injections, joint injections (often with a steroid component), nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections for nerve-related pain, medial branch blocks, and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for arthritis-related pain. Additionally, the candidate may perform kyphoplasty for vertebral fractures and spinal cord stimulation when other treatments have not provided relief.
