About The Position

We're seeking a strategic and hands-on Paid Media Director to lead our performance marketing initiatives for a fast-growing CPG brand in the outdoor and sporting goods space. You'll own the paid media strategy across Google Ads, Bing, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn, Amazon, and Connected TV via MNTN—driving awareness, conversions, and loyalty among our community of adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, storytelling, and growth—and who understands how to build full-funnel campaigns that connect with consumers who live for the outdoors.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years managing paid media in a consumer-facing CPG or eCommerce brand, ideally with products geared toward the outdoor, sporting goods, or active lifestyle market.
  • Hands-on experience running performance marketing across Meta, Google, Amazon, and emerging channels like Connected TV or TikTok.
  • Expertise in direct-to-consumer and omni-channel strategies that drive both online and in-store performance.
  • Deep understanding of audience segmentation and lifecycle marketing, with proven A/B testing chops.
  • Proficiency in analytics platforms and performance dashboards (GA4, Data Studio, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute multi-channel paid media strategies that fuel brand visibility, DTC eCommerce growth, and retailer sell-through.
  • Manage campaigns across search, shopping, social, CTV, and display with a strong focus on ROAS, CPA, and customer acquisition cost (CAC).
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop platform-optimized content that reflects our brand ethos and resonates with the outdoor community.
  • Own the creative briefing process, ensuring ads showcase product benefits in authentic, high-impact ways.
  • Build detailed audience profiles using behavioral data, lifestyle indicators, lookalikes, and first-party insights.
  • Tailor campaigns to outdoor-specific audiences (e.g., hikers, cyclists, anglers, climbers) across various regions and demographics.
  • Lead the testing roadmap across formats, creative, copy, landing pages, and CTAs.
  • Translate learnings into tangible improvements in performance, engagement, and conversion.
  • Own the media budget and allocation strategy across all channels.
  • Monitor spend and adjust bidding strategies to drive efficiency and meet growth goals.
  • Analyze performance across channels using GA4, Google Data Studio, Amazon Advertising, and platform-native tools.
  • Present actionable insights to leadership with a clear focus on impact and ROI.
  • Lead a small team or manage agency partners to execute paid campaigns.
  • Collaborate closely with eCommerce, product, and brand teams to ensure consistent messaging and integrated initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, emerging trends, and outdoor consumer behavior shifts.
  • Pilot new platforms, technologies, and ad formats relevant to the active lifestyle and CPG sectors.
