About The Position

This is a part-time (28 hours/4 days a week) internship for 10-13 weeks during the summer of 2026. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Strategy Intern to join the Church Sustainability Office. In this internship, you will have the opportunity to be exposed to the environmental sustainability priorities and activities of the Church and contribute to several areas including internal tool development, data analysis, research, and communications. Work on real projects to support the Church’s global efforts to care for the earth. Be mentored by sustainability professionals. Gain practical, resume-building experience. Work in a creative, spiritual culture with a highly motivated team.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university OR graduated within the last year
  • Currently pursuing a degree or profession related to environmental sustainability
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Critical thinking, research, and data analytics skills
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills, verbal and written; able to write for executive and general audiences
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritize changing requirements to meet urgent requests
  • Self-motivated with willingness and ability to learn/contribute
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow through; able to manage time effectively
  • Ability to establish priorities, solve problems, and propose meaningful actions, plans, and deliverables
  • Ability to work in teams or alone

Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day work of Church Sustainability Office
  • Complete necessary data analysis and research
  • Complete short-term projects and special assignments
  • Develop drafts and proposals for internal tools, processes, and communications
  • Support internal department and area employees involved in sustainability work
