About The Position

What you will be doing: Rotate between the CADD, Mapping, and Survey sections to perform various tasks within those disciplines (as listed in Job Duties). Work with a team of engineers, surveyors, I.T. staff, and GIS professionals to solve various complex technical problems. Provide mapping, surveying, and CADD support to District offices. Participate directly on projects by collecting/processing survey and mapping data. Write technical reports. Who we are looking for: Someone who: Who is interested in working in the field to collect survey and mapping data Can work independently Is detail-oriented Likes to solve complex problems Is highly motivated Is interested in GIS, surveying mapping, or civil engineering Official Position Description: In the Division of Engineering, Office of CADD & Mapping Services, processes & reduces large light detection & ranging (LiDAR) data sets (e.g., mobile, aerial, & terrestrial); works with surveyors to set control targets. Works in CADD software (e.g., Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, & ProjectWise) to provide support to districts. Purges district plan vault scans & loads PDFs into Plan Vault application. Reviews historic plans for quality assurance & fixes missing location data. Reviews data to purge & load into Ohio Right of Way (OHROW) application. Assists Real Time Network (RTN) manager with Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) maintenance. Operates state mapping vehicle on highways to collect mobile LiDAR & imagery data. If operating a state-owned vehicle, must show proof of valid driver's license OR must provide own transportation.
