About The Position
The Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance (API PA) is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Paid Canvasser in Philadelphia, PA. This position is part-time and hourly, with a pay range of $21 to $26 per hour. The canvassing program is set to launch in March 2024 and will run through November 2024, with the possibility of extending into December. The primary mission of API PA is to empower Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Pennsylvania by coordinating political, electoral, and legislative efforts, ensuring that elected officials are held accountable, and engaging in direct voter contact that is culturally competent and linguistically accessible. The organization focuses on building solidarity with other communities of color and aims to create a strong political presence for Asian and Pacific Islander individuals in the state. As a Paid Canvasser, you will be involved in street canvassing initiatives aimed at educating and mobilizing community members about upcoming elections and API PA-supported candidates. The role requires engaging in face-to-face conversations with residents, tracking interactions, and recording data using provided technology. API PA is committed to investing in its canvassers by providing training, constructive feedback, and opportunities for growth in the policy and advocacy space.
