About The Position

The Southeast Missourian is seeking a dedicated editor to enhance our news and sports pages for both print and digital platforms. This role involves editing copy, designing compelling layouts, and promoting stories through various channels, contributing to our mission of responsible journalism and community engagement.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign
• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Capable of managing multiple pages/stories and meeting deadlines
• Prior experience in a newspaper copy desk setting is preferred, but other relevant experience will be considered
• Passion for journalism

Responsibilities

• Edit copy and design compelling news and sports pages for both print and digital platforms
• Post content to affiliated websites
• Promote stories through social media, push notifications and text alerts
