About The Position

Voce, with oversight from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, has administered the services of the Pennsylvania Adoption Exchange (PAE), a program of Pennsylvania's Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN), since 2004. Established in 1979, PAE is one of the oldest and most progressive adoption exchanges in the United States and assists child welfare caseworkers by recommending adoptive families for children in state custody. The PAE Coordinator works as part of the Technical Assistance team to support and guide permanency services in county and SWAN affiliate children, youth, and family agencies. The primary responsibility of the PAE Coordinator is to ensure that children and youth, in county custody and with a goal of adoption, have the best opportunity for permanency. The PAE Coordinator works with county agencies to register their waiting children and youth with PAE, as required, and to advocate for SWAN services to be referred for those children and youth who are registered. Schedule: Full Time, Exempt position works a minimum of 8 hours between 8 AM – 5 PM. This includes a 30-minute paid lunch.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or equivalent in a related field with three years’ experience or a Bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent in a related field with five years’ experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.

  • Experience in Child Welfare is preferred.
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge, competency and understanding of the SWAN Program, units of service, and PAE.

Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned caseloads for children registered with PAE and works collaboratively with network partners to advocate for the highest level of permanency.
  • Provides monthly reports related to waiting children who are registered with PAE to assigned counties for use when reviewing status of waiting children and youth.
  • Maximizes PAE recruitment strategies (including SWAN units of service) by reviewing recruitment activities for their assigned children and youth and then advising county staff of additional recruitment strategies.
  • Manages the state-sponsored TV segments in their assigned region to review PAE eligibility, works with TV station and child caseworkers to ensure optimum locations, notify the networks of the segments, and manages re-broadcasting.
  • Works closely with the permanency team for each child or youth to explore potential family placement by reviewing the strengths of the match and ensuring family availability.
  • Other duties as assigned.
