Work with an awesome team while ensuring a good time for our guests. This is a seasonal part-time role at our racetrack! Requirements

Must be in good standing with the United States Trotting Association.
Must have knowledge of all the rules and regulations set forth by the United States Trotting Association.
Must possess excellent written and verbal skills.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
Must be able to stand / walk and/or sit for extended periods of time without difficulty.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland Racing Commission required of all Racing Services employees.

Nice To Haves

Previous work in horseracing operations preferred

Responsibilities

Will work under the direction of the Presiding Judge
Works with the Identifier to ensure all horses are correctly scheduled.
Will supervise all paddock gate personnel, verifying that only authorized personnel are in the paddock area.
Will verify that all horses have the proper equipment, head numbers and saddle pads.
Will direct activities of the paddock blacksmith.
Is responsible for adhering to the race schedule.
Will work closely with the Presiding Judge relating to any changes or delays that could affect the racing program.
Is responsible to report any cruelty to horses observed immediately to the Presiding Judge.
Complies with Maryland Racing Commission Regulations.
Promotes outstanding customer relations.
Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
