About The Position

The PACU Technician in the Short Stay Unit contributes to the provision of high-quality, cost-effective health care through direct care of patients and collaboration with other health team members. This role involves participating in patient care data collection and unit-specific treatments as directed by the staff nurse and in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include performing IVs, phlebotomy, 12 lead EKGs, foley catheter insertion, vital signs monitoring, wound care, and measuring for crutches and TEDS. The technician also processes written medical staff orders, documents all care and treatment provided to patients, and transports medications as necessary during patient transport within the institution.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a CNA in a surgical setting.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Responsibilities
