About The Position

The PACU RN PRN position at Ambulatory Surgery Center Tampa involves providing safe and effective nursing care to patients postoperatively until they are discharged. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher degree in Nursing required.
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery.
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment.
  • BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
  • ACLS required within 30-days of hire.
  • PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients' care area and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided.
  • Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
  • Monitor patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).
  • Exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
  • Perform and document head-to-toe evaluation of patients utilizing an approved scoring system.
  • Check dressings and/or operative site of patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
  • Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and families.
  • Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
