About The Position

The position is for a PACU RN at a busy family planning and abortion facility, requiring a passionate advocate for reproductive rights. The role involves working on Fridays or Saturdays from 7 AM to 3 PM, with some flexibility due to patient volume. The RN will initially focus on triage for abortion patients, assist physicians and medical team members in the procedure room, and perform pre-operative ultrasounds for gestational sizing. The RN will supervise the PACU, monitor patients' vital signs during recovery, and ensure they are stable for discharge. Additionally, the RN will provide post-operative patient instructions and contraceptive education. As the RN gains experience, there is an opportunity to transition into a charge nurse role, assisting in managing clinic flow to maximize efficiency and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts license as registered nurse
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to relate well to patients of diverse backgrounds and ages
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of the medical team

Nice To Haves

• Experience in sexual and reproductive health and/or ambulatory surgical setting preferred
• Leadership skills
• Experience as a charge nurse preferred
