About The Position
A hospital in Plymouth, MA is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment . This role is ideal for nurses with strong post-anesthesia recovery experience who are comfortable managing immediate post-operative patients in a fast-paced surgical environment. Local and travel RNs are welcome to apply.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license required
- Minimum 2+ years of recent PACU experience required
- Prior acute care hospital experience required
- Strong airway management and post-anesthesia assessment skills
- Ability to manage high patient turnover and rapid recovery workflow
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- PALS required (if facility treats pediatric cases)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia
- Monitor airway, hemodynamic stability, and post-operative recovery status
- Assess and manage pain, nausea, and post-surgical complications
- Administer IV medications and monitor sedation reversal as needed
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and surgical teams
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital recovery protocols
