Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assesses, instructs & prepares patients prior to surgery Ensures that operative and informed consents are signed and correct Takes and records vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure Initiates intravenous lines (IV) and ensures patients are informed about procedure(s) Assesses patients’ post-operative condition Monitors vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria Logs all findings in patient files Responds to patient questions and ensures patient comfort Monitors patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies

Requirements

  • Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills, be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, required.
  • Current Florida state license to practice as a registered nurse, required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory surgery or operating room, required.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ophthalmology experience, preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, preferred.

Responsibilities
