This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PACU nurse who is looking for a per diem position in a medical office OR environment in the East Boynton Beach area Monday and Tuesday, 6:00am - 6:00pm. This individual must be a self-starter, multitask oriented, motivated, must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure. You will also assist the physician and/or physician assistant with in-office procedures and surgeries. This will involve but not limited to the job function below. Must be an RN and have 2-3 years of experience working in an OR & PACU setting.

Requirements

  • Must be an RN
  • 2-3 years of experience working in an OR & PACU setting
  • PACU: 1 year (Required)
  • EMR Systems: 1 year (Required)
  • Vital Signs: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for pre-op and post-op phone calls.
  • Oversee inventory, stocking and ordering of all OR supplies
  • Prepare the operating room for the patient by assembling supplies and instruments and proper functioning of equipment
  • Develops policies and procedures for quality care in the OR setting pre-op and post op.
  • Prior knowledge of know allergic responses and prescribed protocol (emergency drugs, asthma drugs, etc.)
  • Assess patient's condition and monitored post-surgical recovery
  • Maintain good rapport with other department, and within your own department.
  • Ensured stability of patient's vital signs and administered medication when appropriate.
  • Assist physician and/or physician assistant in exam rooms.
  • Assist physician and/or physician assistant with in-office procedures and surgeries.
  • Assures that appropriately trained personnel, equipment and supplies are available for all surgical procedures
  • Assesses and documents patient status upon admission and on an ongoing basis until patient is discharged
  • Assists in the development of and adheres to all center policies and procedures to assess quality care
  • Reviewed charts for quality and assurance
  • Assist in yearly state inspection with zero deficiencies
