About The Position

The PACS/RIS Coordinator is responsible for the daily management, maintenance, and optimization of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and image study related workflows. This role ensures the integrity, security, and functionality of all digital imaging systems, enabling timely and accurate resulting and access to patient imaging data.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma / GED required
  • Minimum of (1) years of experience in system administration and development.
  • Proficient in system troubleshooting and workflow analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Familiarity with DICOM, HL7, and IHE integration standards preferred.
  • Experience with PACS/RIS platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, ACR, and Joint Commission requirements related to imaging data preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the PACS and RIS environments, ensuring optimal system performance and uptime.
  • Monitor image acquisition, routing, storage, and timely resulting for all modalities.
  • Ensure integration and data flow between PACS and EMR (Meditech/Athena), reporting systems (PS360, Nighthawk), and modality worklists.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PACS/RIS-related issues with technologists, physicians, and IT support in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve revenue cycle issues.
  • Produce statistical and billing reports.
  • Maintain and audit user accounts, security access, and permissions in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
  • Train and educate radiology staff and clinical staff on PACS related workflows.
  • Support special projects such as system migrations, vendor transitions, or modality installations.
