Department: Information Technology Under the direction of IT management, provides operational administration and support for PACS and related imaging systems supporting clinical imaging services across the organization, including Radiology, Cardiology, and clinic-based imaging. Ensures reliable system performance, availability, and integration of imaging technologies across hospital and clinic environments. Troubleshoots system, workflow, and message exchange issues affecting clinical imaging operations. Collaborates with clinical departments, Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, IT teams, and vendors to maintain effective imaging system functionality and support diagnostic workflows. Participates in system lifecycle planning, operational improvement, and governance processes related to imaging technologies. Administer and support PACS and related imaging systems used across Radiology and Cardiology, ensuring reliable system performance and availability. Troubleshoot issues affecting imaging systems and clinical imaging workflows across the imaging and technology environment. Investigate and resolve issues affecting message exchange (e.g., HL7, DICOM) supporting clinical imaging workflows. Perform imaging system support activities through established operational processes, including incident response, ticket management, service requests, and project work. Monitor imaging system performance and investigate system issues affecting image availability or clinical workflow. Serve as an escalation point for complex imaging system issues impacting clinical operations. Collaborate with Biomedical Engineering and IT teams to support reliable image acquisition, transmission, storage, and availability across the imaging environment. Collaborate with physicians and operational leadership in Radiology, Cardiology, and other clinical departments to support effective use of imaging systems and address workflow issues affecting patient care. Collaborate with vendors, Informatics teams, and internal IT teams to investigate, resolve, and escalate imaging system issues. Implement configuration changes and system updates for imaging systems in accordance with organizational change management processes. Maintain imaging systems in accordance with organizational security standards, collaborating with Cybersecurity, Biomedical Engineering, IT teams, and vendors to address vulnerabilities and manage associated risks. Maintain accurate documentation for imaging systems, including configurations, integrations, workflows, operational procedures, and decision records supporting governance, traceability, and operational continuity. Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to IT support teams, including documenting troubleshooting steps and resolutions for imaging system issues. Contribute to the planning and execution of projects, upgrades, system enhancements, and lifecycle activities related to imaging systems and workflows. Identify opportunities to improve imaging system performance, reliability, and workflow efficiency, and escalate identified risks or constraints to IT leadership as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with clinical imaging systems, healthcare information systems, or related technologies required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in information technology, imaging sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Epic certification in applicable imaging modules (e.g., Radiant or Cupid) preferred.
  • Relevant certifications related to imaging systems, healthcare information systems, or information technology are lso preferred.
