We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-service-driven PACS Auditor to join our Radiology team here at St. Francis Hospital. This individual will be responsible for handling patient medical records for imaging, ensuring the secure and accurate processing of imaging requests, and maintaining excellent patient interactions. The role involves copying and burning imaging studies onto CDs for patients, families, law offices, referring physicians, and external medical facilities. Additionally, the PACS Auditor will assist at the front desk, greeting patients and facilitating smooth check-ins for their imaging exams. This position requires strong attention to detail, computer skills, and a commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality. While prior experience in medical records or radiology is beneficial, we provide comprehensive training on our daily workflows and imaging services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, data entry).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience in a medical or office setting is a plus.
  • Previous experience with PACS, medical records, or radiology preferred but not required (training provided).

Responsibilities

  • Process patient requests for medical imaging records, ensuring proper authorization is obtained.
  • Copy and burn radiology images onto CDs/DVDs for patients, legal entities, and medical professionals.
  • Accurately document and track all medical records requests in the system.
  • Verify patient identity and maintain HIPAA compliance when handling protected health information.
  • Prepare and distribute imaging records for referring physicians, law offices, and external medical facilities.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding imaging record requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Welcome and assist patients arriving for their radiology exams.
  • Check-in patients, verify identification, and confirm appointment details.
  • Provide general information about radiology procedures and answer patient questions.
  • Coordinate with the radiology technologists to ensure a smooth patient flow.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while handling front-desk duties.
  • Utilize PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) to locate and manage imaging studies.
  • Enter and update patient data in the medical records system.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and securely stored.
  • Learn and follow all protocols related to imaging services and medical records management.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
