The Packout Associate position at Ascend Performance Materials involves executing various operational tasks in a warehouse environment, focusing on safety, efficiency, and quality. The role requires working in a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and includes responsibilities such as packaging, inspection, and documentation. Associates will also be expected to support the site's Fire Department for the first three years of employment.

  • Execute job safely and follow site and area procedures at all times.
  • Champion for safety for the unit.
  • Drive unit performance to operational entitlement with respect to yields, usages, reliability, and quality.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all Safety and Environmental processes and procedures.
  • Package Super Sacks, 50lb bags, and hopper trucks.
  • Inspect hopper trucks to ensure they are ready to receive and ship to customer.
  • Maximize warehouse efficiency with minimal delays, ensuring optimum packing quality.
  • Perform minor maintenance/modifications to achieve correct operation.
  • Make decisions to achieve safe/effective operation.
  • Keep written and/or electronic documentation of process data and enter data into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Provide a shift summary at the end of each shift.
  • Follow all area instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of previous experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift and be available for an on-call schedule.
  • Positive attitude; ability to work alone or within a team with minimum supervision.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Troubleshooting skills and logical thinking ability.
  • Proficient with hand-tools for machine operation, minor maintenance, and modifications.
  • Ability to perform energy isolation (LOTO).
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing schedule of priorities and equipment.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Successful completion of fork truck training if not already licensed.
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds and move 30-55 gallon drums; good motor coordination and ability to stoop, bend, squat/crouch, and climb stairs frequently.
  • Computer skills for effective use of PC web-based data entry and other applications.
  • Silver Certification level Florida Ready to Work.
