About The Position

The Packing House Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operations of our packing house. This role involves managing staff, coordinating work processes, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in packing house management or supervision preferred.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility to work weekends and variable hours.
Required to travel to seasonal work locations (Delray, Alachua, FL, Brant, NY, Parrish, FL, Omega, GA).

Responsibilities

Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and train packing house staff.
Assign tasks and supervise employees to ensure efficient workflow.
Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.
Operations Management: Coordinate the unloading, sorting, washing, and packaging of products.
Ensure that products meet quality standards and comply with Pero Family Farms and FDA regulatory requirements.
Optimize packing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure product integrity.
Inspect products for defects and take corrective action as needed.
Maintain records of quality control inspections.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
Conduct safety inspections and implement safety training programs.
Investigate accidents and incidents to prevent recurrence.
Facility Management: Maintain the packing house in a clean and organized condition.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs of equipment.
Manage inventory of packing supplies and equipment.
