About The Position

Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Packer (Single Pack) to work in our Westminster, SC location. This is a 1st shift position and standard work hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm. Occasional overtime may be required. Pay starts at $19.00 per hour and depends on experience. Position Information: This position reports directly to the shift supervisor and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is responsible for packing product according to work instructions. Requirements

  • A high school diploma, or equivalent (GED), is required.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. This job is not eligible for sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Will be expected to be able to perform daily tasks.
  • Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
  • Checks stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assembly, parts and any other items needed. Contacts material handler or Production Lead/Supervisor if shortages exist.
  • Complete all departmental paperwork, such as routings, assembly tickets, production status sheets and daily checklists. Communicate questions and problems to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of machinery used for pre-assembly components. Machinery may vary from hand tools to rivet machines as determined by area.
  • Perform frequent quality checks as directed by management or a Quality Representative. May be required to use quality inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers and/or calipers. Continuously inspect part quality.
  • Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff from the Quality department.
  • Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift.
  • Maintain production rate on each job.
  • Communication throughout shift to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Will be responsible for assembling product as instructed on work instruction/routings/blueprints.
  • Will be responsible to set-up of the riveter machines within their assigned area.
  • Verifies quality specifications by measuring completed component/product.
  • Ensure data accuracy before transacting in inventory system. Elevate issues or suspected discrepancies to management.
  • Will be required to fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.
  • Train new operators, as needed.
  • Practice 6S and always maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
