About The Position

The primary function of this position is to inspect fruit for defects according to specifications provided (i.e. color, shape, bruises, softness, grade, sunburn and punctures). As the fruit moves across the sorting table, the worker will sort out defective fruit. Additionally, the worker will remove any leaves or debris from the fruit and will need to be able to work with packaging equipment, focus on distribution of final product while maintaining consistent work flow.

Responsibilities

• Observing and evaluating fruits as it moves across the sorting table.
• Reaching/Handling at waist level to transfer and discard defective fruit into cull totes
• Reaching/Handling to remove leaves and debris
• Standing in the same place for a long period of time
• Sorting fruit out of water conductions
• Observing and evaluating the packing material
• Reaching/Handling at waist level to operate packaging equipment
• Reaching/Handling to distribute final product
