The Packer – Pool Chemicals is responsible for sealing and packaging dry Calcium Hypochlorite products in various container sizes, including 25 lb, 50 lb, and 100 lb pails, as well as 2000 lb intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). This role rotates through Packout, Blending, and Briquettes stations based on a weekly schedule. The position serves as the final quality checkpoint before shipment, requiring visual inspection of products and appropriate action when needed. Responsibilities include accurate record-keeping, safe operation of equipment (e.g., forklifts, lift assists, compactors), minor maintenance tasks, supporting new team members, and assisting in the Process area with housekeeping and other duties

Requirements

  • Education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Work schedule is 12-hour rotating shifts
  • This is a production position, not a Supply Chain or Logistics position

Responsibilities

  • Primary function of the position is the sealing and packaging of dry Calcium Hypochlorite finished goods. This involves 25 lb, 50 lb, and 100 lb pails along with 2,000 lb IBCs.
  • Rotate through the positions of Packout, Blending, and Briquettes, filling each position based on the weekly schedule.
  • Act as the last point of contact that HTH®/J3® products have before shipment. Must be able to make visual assessments of product quality and take appropriate actions when necessary.
  • Accurate record-keeping is required, including correct weights in the seal room and accurate documentation while reworking.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment efficiently and safely, including forklifts, lift assists, and garbage/trash compactors.
  • Provide instruction and assist new employees, help with minor maintenance (replace auger, repair chain breaks, repair rolls, tighten photocells), possess knowledge of product flow, and perform assigned duties from the Packout A Operator and/or Shift Lead.
  • Perform limited job assignments in the Process area under supervision, including screen cleaning, assisting with major housekeeping activities, and other tasks needed in that area.
  • Serve as an ERT member, attend required training, and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
