About The Position

The Packer position at Berry Global, Inc. involves removing finished products from machines, inspecting them for quality, and ensuring that packaging requirements are met according to production work orders. Requirements

• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have manual dexterity.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must know how to read and use a tape measure and weigh scale.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read work order for product specifications and any special instructions concerning packaging, special skids, cartons, cradles, banding requirements, and samples.
• Inspect products for customer requirements and any defects.
• Assist in start-up and changeover of machinery or orders.
• Perform all required quality checks on all orders on a regular basis.
• Adhere to all packaging requirements per Production Work Order.
• Enter production in JDE and print all necessary paperwork, including closing out the last skid of the order.
• Complete at least one Work Place Observation per month.
• Place customer labels on end of cartons or gaylords in a straight and neat manner.
• Adhere to any and all identification sheets, tally sheets, bar codes as requested by the customer.
• Follow AIB Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP'S) per written procedures and practices.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Maintain paperwork in order and not inter-mixed with orders that are completed or about to run.
