About The Position

The Packer I / Material Handler position is responsible for the production and/or packaging of a variety of manufactured products within the Molding Department. This role supports several areas of manufacturing, including injection molding, Stretch Blow Molding, Extrusion Blow Molding, and Quality. The Packer is tasked with safely and efficiently moving products from the molding machine to the designated pick-up area, while the Material Handler performs various duties such as making move transactions in the computer system, safely transporting items, and maintaining raw material levels at each machine. The position requires adherence to safety practices and maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions.
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Perform basic visual quality inspections on products.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently move product from the molding machine to the box and then to the designated pick-up area.
  • Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling operations, and sorting.
  • Move product into boxes, ensuring that all parts are packed correctly according to the Work Order and packing directions.
  • Move product and inventory using a Pallet Jack.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment by sweeping the floor and following set 5S standards.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions on all products.
  • Execute and document quality inspections twice per shift.
  • Safeguard material handling operations and warehouse contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks to move materials to and from locations.
  • Ensure that the correct material, color, and additives are being used for each product being produced.
  • Communicate with other shifts and departments to pass and gather information concerning daily duties.
