About The Position

The Packer is responsible for packing quality products by performing concise visual inspections and looking for defects as listed on the quality card provided. The role requires arriving on time daily, performing the job safely and efficiently, and being accountable for the parts packed. The Packer must meet production volume expectations posted daily and pack parts into boxes that meet quality specifications. The position involves learning job requirements based on company expectations, exhibiting teamwork, and following company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for picking, inspecting, and packing quality parts into boxes on the assigned line.
• Accurately count parts to ensure that customers receive a consistent, quality product.
• Bag counted parts and place them into the correct box on the assigned production line.
• Ensure that each box is properly sealed to minimize the potential for damage.
• Verify that proper date codes and labels are on all boxes being put on the skids.
• Keep pace with the speed of the machine and prevent packable parts from falling into the scrap bin.
• Assist the machine operator when needed.
• Stay until the area is completely clean and ready for the oncoming shift.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report unsafe conditions to the operator and/or supervisor.
• Adhere to safety policy and wear all safety gear at all times.
• Learn and understand nip/pinch point locations on all machines.
