About The Position

The Packer Coordinator, under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for basic packaging room workflow coordination. This role involves reading the production schedule, communicating production run information, preparing and verifying packaging labels, monitoring supply levels, assigning job duties to packers, performing audits, and ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene guidelines. The Packer Coordinator may also fill in for the supervisor as needed and is expected to assist in maintaining a clean and orderly packaging room.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
• 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Reads the production schedule and plans accordingly.
• Communicates production run information to the following shift lead person.
• Prepares and verifies packaging labels for use on cases or full product skids.
• Monitors supply levels and notifies packaging material handler when supplies are needed.
• Assigns job duties to all packers in conjunction with department supervisor.
• Coordinates rotation and relief of packers; may relieve packers.
• Performs 100 bag audits and audits Packers for correct case counts and quality of packaging.
• Monitors workflow of the packaging room throughout the shift.
• Assists in areas where needed.
• Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures.
• Keeps packaging room clean, neat, and orderly.
• Reports all job-related injuries to supervision.
• May fill in for supervisor level as needed.
• Mandatory overtime may be required.
• May perform other duties as required.
