About The Position

Contents Restoration Technician (Packer/Cleaner) Job Summary: The Contents Restoration Technician (Packer/Cleaner) is a vital member of our production team. This role is physically demanding and requires a detail-oriented, organized, and compassionate individual. You will be responsible for the careful handling, packing, cleaning, and inventorying of our clients' personal belongings. Your work ensures that precious items are preserved, restored, and safely stored with the utmost care and respect during the restoration process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (30+ lbs) repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Willingness to work in environments that may have been affected by water, fire, or mold (safety equipment and training provided).

  • Previous experience in packing, moving, cleaning, warehouse work, or a related field is a plus but not required. We provide training!

Responsibilities

  • Packing & Preparation: Carefully and efficiently pack clients' household items (including fragile items like china, electronics, and artwork) using appropriate packing materials and techniques.
  • Disassemble furniture and other household items as needed for safe transport.
  • Ensure all items are properly protected to prevent damage during moving and storage.
  • Cleaning & Restoration: Perform initial cleaning and wiping of items to remove soot, dust, and debris.
  • Utilize various cleaning agents and techniques under supervision to clean non-porous contents.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of ozone chambers and hydroxyl generators for odor removal.
  • Identify items that require specialized cleaning (e.g., electronics, delicate fabrics) and separate them for the appropriate department.
  • Inventory & Documentation: Meticulously categorize, tag, and log all items according to company procedures.
  • Create detailed inventory lists using forms or digital tablets, noting the condition of each item.
  • Take photographs of items and rooms as part of the documentation process.
  • Loading & Transportation: Safely load and unload packed items into company vehicles and storage facilities.
  • Ensure items are securely placed in storage units to maximize space and prevent shifting or damage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the warehouse and storage areas.
  • Customer Service: Interact with clients professionally and with empathy, understanding they are often in a stressful situation.
  • Represent the company with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
