About The Position
The position involves trimming, inspecting, and packing containers or parts on line 1. Responsibilities include taking 95-gallon trash cans from the production floor to the compactor for emptying and returning them once emptied. The employee will inspect and pack bottles on assigned lines, in the repack area, or during rework activities. Monitoring production for quality defects and promptly informing the operator and/or supervisor of any issues is crucial. The role requires correctly applying tickets to finished packages, reading and understanding the job discrete pick list, and ensuring compliance on the assigned line. Employees must fill in required data on exception reports and any pack/inspection sheets as necessary. The position also involves starting, stopping, resetting, and clearing jams on auxiliary equipment such as bottle conveyors, sleeve labelers, box makers, labelers, flame treaters, and leak testers. Completing assigned housekeeping duties in areas of responsibility, filling out employee safety observation forms, and reporting hazards as necessary are also part of the job. Participation in monthly safety and/or quality meetings and adherence to Silgan safety policies are required. Employees will empty reject bins and grind scrap as necessary and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
