About The Position

The Glass Specialist position at Ardagh Group involves working in the cold end department to perform quality tests on finished glass containers. The role is crucial for ensuring customer safety and satisfaction by maintaining the integrity of the products. The specialist will be responsible for inspecting finished ware for defects and monitoring inspection lines to uphold high-quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to physically perform all related tasks associated with the position
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours
• Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with defect identification and inspection procedures

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished ware for defects using visual and fingernail inspections
• Monitor inspection lines and equipment for defects
• Use Optical Comparator to inspect bottle dimensions and weight
• Test the annealing, hot end surface coating, glass thickness, and pressure of finished ware
• Perform random audits on finished ware
• Maintain records of inspections and defects
• Work with other departments to identify and eliminate defects
