Packaging - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Okie Staffing is currently seeking reliable individuals for Packaging - 2nd Shift positions to support our client’s manufacturing operations. This role involves preparing products for shipment by correctly packaging and labeling items on the second shift. The Packaging Associate is responsible for performing a variety of labor-intensive tasks to support packaging and production operations. This includes accurate labeling, container preparation, drum handling, cartridge packing, crimping, and material transfer. This role is critical in ensuring product quality through precise fill weights, proper labeling, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to read gauges, meters, and small print
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent work experience
Responsibilities
- Identify, report, and assist in resolving any drips, leaks, or spills that could impact safety or the environment
- Follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Support and adhere to quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 (as applicable)
- Follow all established procedures related to packaging and production
- Minimize defects and ensure high-quality output
- Follow instructions for labeling, stacking, palletizing, and packaging processes
- Monitor and assist with automated equipment (packers, tapers, printers, etc.)
- Ensure equipment is ready for operation; perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments under supervision
