About The Position

Since 1997, our factory has been a leading producer of the nation's cat litter supply. Located on Tidy Cat Road, our 40-acre plant site is seamlessly connected to a clay mine, enabling efficient mining, processing, packaging, and shipping. Operating around the clock, we mass produce conventional and clumping cat litter, supplying the mid-Atlantic region with nearly a third of a million tons annually. Bring your talents to our King William plant where we collaborate to meet every challenge successfully and collectively. As a Packaging Trainee you safely and efficiently operate packaging equipment. You will monitor and operate equipment, lead troubleshooting and make adjustments to provide optimal equipment performance. Operators ensure the lines are continuously supplied with materials and store, stack, and load finished goods safely. This position will be responsible for reviewing and actively participating in risk assessments. This position will work night shift (7pm-7am) on a rotating weekly schedule with every other weekend off.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 6+ months of experience in a fast-paced and performance measured environment

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate, monitor and problem solve throughout the packaging area
  • Supply packaging materials and maintain sanitation to high standards as issues are identified
  • Load and unload raw/packaging materials and finished goods
  • Maintain accurate inventory data through proper data entry
  • Perform Preventative Standard Routines to include performance of basic lubrication, repairs, inspection, and identify defects to complete or coordinate repairs
  • Ensure that products meet all quality standards by monitoring production parameters, sampling/testing and responding accordingly
  • Keeps area clean at all times - Identifies and utilizes down time to clean in, around and under all equipment
