About The Position

The Packaging Technician is responsible for ensuring the accurate, efficient, and compliant packaging of cannabis products for Ilera Holistic Healthcare's dispensary partners across Louisiana. This role involves performing packaging tasks such as weighing, measuring, and labeling products according to established procedures while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to learn and improve.
  • Proficient in basic math and computer programs (word processing, spreadsheets, and email).
  • Must be able to work with materials that may include allergen-sensitive substances; e.g., cannabis, nut-derived oils, artificial flavoring, and more.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from manuals, data sheets, or other documents.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must comply with all company regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follow daily packaging schedules to meet quality and efficiency goals.
  • Verify the functionality of all equipment and tools before each shift or batch, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Accurately package, label, and report data, adhering to Ilera Holistic Healthcare's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain packaging equipment such as liquid filling machines, capping machines, label applicators, and scales according to SOPs.
  • Crosstrain other packaging operators to ensure team flexibility.
  • Manage inventory for packaging and labeling materials and finished products, maintaining accurate records.
  • Safely handle and dispose of chemicals in accordance with SOPs and MSDS guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, reporting any unsafe conditions to the Packaging Supervisor.
  • Assist with product transport to secure inventory areas.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOPs and work instructions.
  • Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work flexible shifts as needed to meet production demands.
