About The Position

This full-time Packaging Technician position in Scott City, MO, offers an excellent opportunity for individuals willing to work a 7am - 7pm shift, including every other weekend. The role primarily involves operating various packaging equipment such as scales, bag sealers, and product conveyors. Key responsibilities include the physical movement of products from conveyors to trucks and railcars, safe operation of forklifts (including daily inspections and charging), and thorough inspection of trailers for the loading process. The technician will also be responsible for verifying bags, placards, paperwork, and seals to ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely dispatch. Communication with truck drivers and collaboration with the Packaging Lead are essential to ensure orders are processed efficiently and accurately. Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, inspecting pallets, and utilizing systems like IMS and SPC are also part of the daily duties, with a strong emphasis on quality of work within the assigned area.

Requirements

• Ability to operate packaging equipment including scales, bag sealer, product conveyors and other equipment
• Ability to physically move product from conveyors to trucks and railcars
• Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner including daily inspections of the forklift and daily charging
• Ability to inspect trailers for the loading process

• Ability to complete necessary paperwork to complete truck orders
• Ability to verify all paperwork and seals to ensure the correct product is being sent out
• Ability to communicate with truck drivers to ensure proper order dispatch
• Ability to inspect pallets and verify their proper condition
• Ability to utilize IMS and SPC where applicable
• Responsibility for quality of work within area
• Ability to maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion

Responsibilities

• Work with Packaging Lead to ensure all orders go out timely and accurately
• Responsible for inspecting pallets and verifying that each pallet is in proper condition to be loaded
• Physically move product from conveyors to trucks and railcars
• Utilize the IMS and SPC where applicable
• Responsible for quality of work within area
• Maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion
