About The Position

The Packaging Specialist – Repack works as a member of the Repack Team to package finished products in cans into cartons for distribution at the highest level of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred. Packaging Specialists work with hand tools such as, but not limited to, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, and some power tools.
  • Problem Solving. The ability to use deductive reasoning and troubleshoot issues with equipment based on sight and sound. Work (under supervision) to resolve mechanical issues with equipment.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work both independently and with the Packaging Team in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to lift 55lbs from ground to shoulder height.
  • Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders.
  • Work on feet for entire shift.
  • Extend standing, bending, sitting, and crouching.
  • Adequate hearing and vision ability to work safely with others in a loud environment.
  • Tolerance for hot, cold, and noisy conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Efficient Execution of Repack Schedule
  • Operate packaging equipment including a Switchback Brewpack 200 cartoner, printer, and conveyance.
  • Work with Repack Lead to understand the repack schedule calendar and what needs to be packaged and at what quantity.
  • Assist with all non-machine-ran repack runs including hand packaging finished goods when necessary.
  • Assist with all delegated tasks when not actively running repacks to assist other areas of warehouse or production with general tasks.
  • Skills & Competency Development
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, under supervision.
  • Clean and maintain repack equipment.
  • Perform all delegated tasks when not actively running repack to assist other areas of warehouse or production with general tasks including but not limited to cleaning and organizing dunnage, baling cans, dumping kegs, stacking small-market orders, or providing support on canning runs at Snow Tire.
  • Quality & Safety
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment properly and adhere to and uphold the CCBC culture of safety and all OSHA and FDA regulations.
  • Ensure all repackaged goods are dated properly and legibly, and that product being repacked has been properly FIFO.
  • Alert the Repack Lead or other management to potential quality or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Teamwork & Time Management
  • Collaborate with the Repack Lead to ensure the team understands which product and how many cases need to be repacked daily.
  • Support other members of the Repack Team to reach a common goal in executing the repack schedule as efficiently as possible with minimal downtime.
  • Perform daily end-of-shift cleaning duties to set the next day up for success.
