What You Will Do : As a Packaging Research Associate , you will play a key role in evaluating the performance of metal food containers and secondary packaging. Your work directly supports product development, plant quality, and customer satisfaction .

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Packaging or related field
  • Ability to perform standardized testing through ASTM and similar formats
  • Working knowledge of statistics and experimental design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changing project needs
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs , work seated or standing for long periods , and perform repetitive motions
  • Comfort working around chemicals, solvents, moving machinery, and occasional high‑noise environment s

Responsibilities

  • Applying written safety procedures to maintain a safe laboratory environment
  • Designing and conducting studies to evaluate how materials, product design, manufacturing, and packaging affect container performance
  • Performing laboratory testing using industry‑standard and proprietary methods
  • Supporting manufacturing divisions with technical insights to improve container quality and performance
  • Testing new container materials and designs, including evaluations related to thermal processing
  • Completing dimensional, strength, and material evaluations using specialized tools and instrumentation
  • Preparing clear, concise technical reports and presenting findings when needed
  • Maintaining lab equipment, ordering supplies, and performing routine housekeeping
  • Training other employees and supporting team members as needed
  • Participating in facility tours and traveling occasionally for training or project support
