About The Position

As a Packaging Plant Operator, you'll be responsible for the efficient operation of equipment used to process, package, and prepare salt products for shipment. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in maintaining production quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and with a team.
  • Experience with Hamer automated packaging/bagging machines is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working on ladders or elevated platforms when required.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machinery safely.
  • Ability to work in a production environment that involves repetitive motion and consistent physical activity.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Employment in this role may be contingent upon the successful completion of certain pre-employment requirements, which could include a background check, drug screen, or driving record review, depending on the position
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Hamer automated packaging/bagging machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor packaging line machinery, conveyors, and weighing systems.
  • Ensure products are filled, sealed, labeled, and palletized according to specifications.
  • Perform routine quality checks to verify weight, packaging integrity, and labeling accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials or finished goods as needed.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or production issues promptly.
  • Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment.
