About The Position

We are currently hiring a Packaging Operator in Milton, DE. The Packaging Operator runs packaging machinery to meet brewery needs and goals. This position trains throughout the Packaging Department to become skilled in operating all equipment within their designated work area. The ideal candidate has 1+ years of packaging/production experience and is a solid team player with a “get it done, can do” attitude.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years’ experience in packaging, production, and/or similar manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient with computers and automated equipment. Must be able to learn and accurately utilize company systems
  • Must be available to support shift, weekend, and holiday schedules as required
  • Work overtime as needed, which may require 12-hour days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate packaging machinery. Machinery types include, but are not limited to: Filler, Labeler, Box Maker, Packer
  • Utilize lean manufacturing methodologies in daily standard work to drive improvements in safety, quality, and overall line performance.
  • Follow manufacturing best practices, such as equipment center lining, visualization, and 6S.
  • Perform quality checks, testing, inspections, minor lubrication, and paperwork as required.
  • Fulfil sanitation duties. Requires the use of foaming equipment, hoses, brooms, shovels, brushes, scrapers, squeegees, and sanitation chemicals.
  • Develop and maintain a functional understanding of computer systems. Operate computers, automated equipment, fulfil administrative obligations, and input data as required.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with a “Safety-First” approach. Assist other operators and departments in training, repair work and equipment operation as needed.
  • Operate forklifts as required.
  • Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions and hot and cold room environments
  • Work and clean in confirmed space areas, such as the pasteurizer, after required permitting procedures are completed.
