About The Position

At Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, the Packaging Operator coordinates all activities of the line to ensure the correct and efficient completion of the production schedule. This role is responsible for machine, line, palletizing, and robotic line operation associated with the packaging of quality cheese products. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions.
  • Proficient in use of the computer.
  • Must have a solid organizational, analytical problem solving and communication skills.
  • Maintain good sanitation and housekeeping of work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform proper training of all line personnel including packaging operators.
  • Train all line personnel in completing paperwork, reports, procedures and techniques.
  • Set up, adjust, monitor, and perform general operating maintenance on crumble, deli, sealing, boxing and palletizing cheese packaging equipment.
  • Document and record when work is completed on equipment.
  • Ensure that product and materials get allocated to the line.
  • Report equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure that all paperwork as well as system transactions are accurately completed and performed in a timely manner.
  • Perform leaker, weight, metal detector, magnet checks, finished packaging integrity, and oxygen checks as required.
  • Interact and communicate with the department manager, supervisors, quality, and office personnel.
  • Perform pre-op inspections and maintain chemical strength logs.
  • Record data in Maestro.
