About The Position

Shell Lubricants Plants produce and package products used around the world. Working in a Shell Lubricants Plant offers a career in Operations and Maintenance at the front line of the company’s activities, providing a purpose-driven career with a positive impact. Packaging Operators are involved with safely and efficiently operating packaging machinery and material movement equipment, identifying and implementing equipment improvements to increase plant reliability, and communicating with colleagues and supervisors regarding productivity issues. They perform duties related to product distribution, loading/unloading trucks, and supporting packaging lines. Responsibilities also include performing tool preventative maintenance, keeping equipment clean, maintaining process materials records, and ensuring good housekeeping practices. Operators are expected to keep log records for optimal handover to other shifts and understand and perform physical inventories. The role requires a safe work attitude and practical knowledge of industrial safety standards.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a packaging plant or experience in an industrial plant or military environment
  • Must be at least 18 years old, with a minimum High school diploma or GED
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, nights and weekends when the need arises
  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodation
  • Willing to support the company's drug-free work environment, harassment free work environment policy, safety policies in diversity and inclusion policies
  • Tend to emergencies, successful candidates must reside within 60 minutes of the site or be willing to relocate to within 60 minutes of the site without relocation assistance
  • Complete the Online Assessment and receive a passing score

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with high-speed, high-volume material handling equipment, forklift, filling bottling, canning experience strongly preferred
  • Prior Military experience in a relevant job function such as warehouseman, supply, logistics and forklift operations

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate packaging machinery and material movement equipment
  • Identify and implement equipment improvements to increase plant reliability
  • Communicate verbally in writing to operators, employees, supervisors and others regarding the identification of problems with productivity
  • Perform duties to distribute products to applicable areas, load, unload trucks, and support packaging lines
  • Perform tool preventative maintenance and keep equipment clean
  • Contribute to keeping process materials records and maintain good housekeeping practices
  • Keep log records of operational activities for optimal and thorough handover to other shifts
  • Understand and perform physical inventories
