Sofidel America of Duluth is currently seeking Packaging Operators to join our converting team. We are searching for a candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long-term career in a stable environment with opportunities for growth. We are building careers within our new operations and this role is a pivotal operations role that supports daily production.   • Support the Converting Production by operating paper converting equipment to meet the production goal established for the line in a safe manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and ensure that all products manufactured meet customer specifications.
  • Produce products that meet and achieve superior quality and performance standards.
  • Support Sofidel America's Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
  • Responsible for set-up, operation, and adjustment of the primary and/or secondary packaging equipment.
  • Perform with other staff operating the line, as a team collectively work to achieve established production rates.
  • Document quality control, production and/or maintenance issues on respective reporting forms during operation of the line.
  • Understand product specifications to ensure production of a quality finished product within the specification tolerances.
  • Read and comprehend production schedules, work orders, manuals, and performance specifications, to establish proper operation of the equipment.
  • Obey the established housekeeping rules and maintain an organized work area clean of obstacles, debris and loose material.
  • Perform routine inspection of condition of the equipment and report to the Supervisor or the Maintenance department unusual equipment or operating problems.
  • Assist other operators, maintenance, or production personnel in other production duties as needed.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or six (6) to twelve (12) months experience manufacturing inventory and purchasing and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SAP experience is a must.
  • Ability to work in a cross functionally across departments and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed with strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to learn and certify in Lift and Crane operation.
