About The Position

The Packaging Manager is responsible for establishing goals and metrics for the functional area and driving the team to meet or exceed these goals. This role involves working across the organization to ensure the availability and accuracy of inventory, maintaining accurate records of all transactions, and developing departmental budgets and reports. The manager will partner with internal and external customers to identify requirements and ensure their needs are met in a timely manner. Additionally, the Packaging Manager will maintain staffing levels, prepare work schedules, lead departmental meetings, and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or related field.
  • 5+ years of increasingly responsible management experience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced knowledge of production and manufacturing operations.
  • Effective communication skills with upper leadership and team members.
  • Ability to handle challenges skillfully and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Establish goals and metrics for the functional area.

  • Ensure availability and accuracy of inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Develop departmental budgets and reports.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to identify requirements.
  • Maintain staffing levels for effective packaging operations.
  • Prepare work schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Assign team member work duties to meet operational requirements.
  • Lead regular department meetings.
  • Ensure labor and expenses are in line with budget.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness of work area.
  • Evaluate processes and implement improvements.
  • Establish and document standard operating procedures.
  • Provide feedback and performance reviews to team members.
  • Investigate performance concerns and implement disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on complaints and performance concerns.
  • Manage hiring process for direct reports.
