About The Position

Work with Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Senior Food Technicians on packaging equipment and processes. Oversee packaging supervisors -- lead, coach and motivate the department to ensure high quality products are produced safely and in a cost effective manner. Works closely with the production planner, warehouse manager and maintenance manager to assure the department is meeting the logistics requirements. Monitor all production and production processes on all production lines. Lead daily meeting with the packaging department. Promote an atmosphere of cooperation and team work. Minimize waste by monitoring and controlling processes and equipment. Maximize output by reducing downtime throughout the packaging process. All other relevant tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • College degree OR 10 years production experience can substitute for college degree(s).
  • Minimum 3 years management experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Awareness of OSHA, USDA and Food Grader guidelines.
  • Possesses basic machinery/system technical trouble shooting skills and knowledge of computerized equipment.
  • Exhibit the flexibility needed to respond to frequent changes in the production requirements and/or equipment failures.
  • Exhibit familiarity with process control systems , computerized data and basic program systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of high speed equipment with detail knowledge of weight control, bag sealing functions, box requirements, vertical form filling, automated transfer and stacking.
  • Highly motivated with a proactive work ethic.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics.
  • Must be willing to work evening hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual language skills preferred.
