About The Position

SummaryThis role reports to the Maintenance Manager; and is responsible for directing and coordinating the mechanical maintenance of the Packaging, Palletizing and Specialty Line areas to ensure maximum operating efficiency in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. This role is accountable for maintaining, upgrading, keeping up to date with the latest techniques of electronic and packaging systems, and the continual operations of the packaging equipment. The Packaging Maintenance Supervisor trains and supervises the maintenance work force to ensure the quality and quantity of work performance meets the necessary requirements to meet the operations goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training

Nice To Haves

  • Must be available in the event of unplanned downtime that requires special and/or extra means to get the factory up and running.
  • Any licenses demonstrating knowledge of welding and/or PLC is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the Plant Policies, Procedures and Union contracts are administered and followed in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Directs the loss control program in his/her area of accountability, to reduce personal injury accidents, other losses, and to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Is responsible to attend and participate in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
  • Is accountable for the packaging portion of the maintenance budget.
  • Is accountable for identifying potential capital projects and repair jobs, and new projects in his/her area.
  • Ensures the parts inventory for packaging and specialty line equipment is adequate to meet maintenance needs. Recommends equipment, procedure, and facility modifications to ensure the most efficient use of our resources.
  • Maintains awareness of new developments, equipment and processes for potential applications to meet corporate and plant objectives.
  • Directs the packaging maintenance and specialty line function to assure the maximum operating efficiencies are maintained to meet minimal downtime, quality levels, volumes, grade yield, safety performance and cost control.
