About The Position

The Packaging Machine Technician at ColdStar International Corporation is responsible for the operation and maintenance of production equipment to meet daily production goals. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and fabricating parts for facility machinery, ensuring efficient and safe operation of all equipment.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced skills (Journeyman level) required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems, and PLC programming
  • Experience using one or more of the following tools: lathe, milling machine, drill press, and vertical/horizontal cut off saw
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create blueprints and schematics
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily start-up and shut-down of machines
  • Keep machine properly maintained (cleaned and lubricated)
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion
  • Complete required forms to ensure proper operations and set up of all machines
  • Read electrical and Pneumatic diagrams to help speed repair of the equipment if it malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot machine issues quickly
  • Set up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Install facility machinery
  • Fabricate replacement and new parts for facility machinery
  • Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain facility machinery
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Program PLCs
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts
  • Maintain and secure work tools
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use
  • Perform back-up for assembly lines
  • Perform back-up for warehouse
  • Order tools and fabrication parts
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees
