About The Position

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating packaging machines and statistical scales to ensure the production of quality packages at Frito-Lay. This role is crucial to the manufacturing process, contributing to the production of popular snack products. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment, often on off-shifts, and involves physical tasks such as lifting and maintaining machinery. After a training period, operators will perform various tasks to ensure efficient operation and safety in the manufacturing facility.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1 year of machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs from floor to waist.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in reading and writing in English.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods.
• Willingness to work at heights using ladders or lifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple packaging machines to ensure accurate code dates and weights.
• Check that products are dated and sealed with minimal waste.
• Maintain cleanliness of products to be packed.
• Keep a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on packaging machines.
• Inspect conveyors and scales prior to line start-ups and changeovers.
• Troubleshoot common mechanical issues and make operational adjustments.
