About The Position
The Packaging Heavy Lifter position at FF-Packaging involves a variety of essential duties primarily focused on the packaging of products. Employees in this role are responsible for performing tasks such as packing cases or caddies, gathering, mixing, and feeding packaging equipment with product, marking cases or cartons, inspecting products, and assembling cartons or cases. This position requires unassisted, constant, and repetitive lifting of materials weighing between 25 lbs. and 50 lbs. Additionally, employees must maintain a safe and sanitary work area and may be assigned other duties within the scope of their employment as needed. Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is crucial, and employees are expected to work all scheduled hours, including mandatory overtime as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the union. The role does not involve any supervisory responsibilities, and candidates must possess the ability to read and write in English. The job requires less than a high school education or three to six months of related experience or training. Employees must also demonstrate basic mathematical skills, such as adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing by 10's and 100's. Reasoning ability is essential for following simple instructions and dealing with standardized situations with minimal variables. Physical demands include standing, using hands for handling objects, reaching, walking, and occasionally sitting. Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and may need to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, seeking help for anything over that weight. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels, requiring employees to be aware of their surroundings while performing their duties.
