What it's like to be a Forklift Driver As a new Full-Time Forklift Driver at Barrett Petfood, you can expect a dynamic work environment where your contributions play a crucial role in the manufacturing process. Your daily responsibilities will include operating forklifts to move materials efficiently and safely throughout the facility, ensuring that production lines are well-stocked and running smoothly. You'll be charged with conducting routine inspections of equipment to maintain safety standards and collaborating with team members to resolve any logistical challenges that may arise. Your schedule will be 1 week day (same every week), Saturday, & Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM , providing a consistent work routine. Day to Day responsibilities Utilize Barrett's ERP system, Plex, for location of bulk product Ensure quality of bulk product by inspecting product prior to movement Scan bulk product onto the packaging line it will hang on Safely hang 2,000lb bulk product on the packaging line & notify the packaging operator Weigh any bulk product that did not get packaged into smaller bags & report it to the packaging operator Ensure FIFO Enter product information & print labels for pallets in our ERP system, Plex Screen kibble as necessary Conduct daily forklift inspections and complete paperwork Wrap & transport finished pallets to the warehouse & stage for shipping Count and check orders as they are packaged for accuracy What you need to be successful To excel as a Full-Time Forklift Driver at Barrett Petfood, certain skills will be invaluable to your success.
