About The Position

Are you a Packaging Engineer who thrives on practical problem-solving rather than creative design work? We're looking for a data-driven, detail-oriented Packaging Engineer to focus on quoting packaging, selecting optimal box types, configuring efficient pack outs, and testing packaging performance for shipping. This role is critical in making sure our products arrive safely, cost-effectively, and in compliance with customer expectations.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
• Expertise in quoting, packaging optimization, and shipping logistics
• Strong understanding of case/cube optimization, protective packaging, and freight considerations
• Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD required; Solid Edge preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Evaluate packaging requirements and generate cost quotes for packaging solutions
• Select appropriate packaging types (boxes, inserts, pallets) for product protection and cost efficiency
• Develop and test pack out configurations to optimize cube utilization and minimize shipping damage
• Audit packaging lines and processes to ensure quality and efficiency
• Collaborate across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering to troubleshoot and refine existing packaging methods
• Lead packaging optimization initiatives to reduce costs and improve performance
• Maintain packaging specifications, BOMs, and documentation for shipping configurations
